Participation details
Draft notice · collection not open
Participate without identifying yourself
No name, email, password, or sign-in screen is required. A randomly assigned browser session lets you save progress and see your private report. It does not require a personal identity. Use the same browser to return; clearing site data or changing devices loses access. Download your report when you finish.
Research and your report
When collection opens, confirmed answers contribute to aggregated findings. Standard research exports exclude session identities, company names, free text, and conversations. Authorized administrators can access underlying records. Hosting and authentication services maintain operational logs, which can include IP addresses and request times; participation is not a promise of technical untraceability. Avoid identifying yourself or your clients in text or chat.
Optional email, after completion
Your personal report is available without an email. After submitting, you may separately opt in to receive this year’s published industry findings. The delivery list stores your email, study year, test status, and consent time; it contains no survey-response or session identifier. We do not add the email to your answers or turn your session into an email account. This opt-in is for study findings, not sales outreach. Timing and operational records could still permit correlation; the list is separate, not guaranteed unlinkable.
Optional AI assistance
When live AI is connected, your answers and recent conversation context are sent to OpenAI for assistance. The optional results email is not sent as study context. During the study, assistance clarifies questions without recommending changes. Advice and product exploration begin after submission and your choice to continue. Provider retention terms must be confirmed before collection opens.
Private cloud testing
Private Test responses are saved as test records and excluded from research exports. Test email preferences are also marked as tests and are not included in the real delivery list. Submitted responses stay locked. The separate Local Preview stores sample progress in your browser and does not collect email addresses.
Before public launch
ThreatCaptain must finalize the research contact, retention period, withdrawal and correction process, distribution arrangements, delivery process, and applicable privacy terms. Anonymous participation does not enforce one response per organization; clearing browser data can create a new session. Research collection remains closed until launch is approved.
